lyrics

Day recedes in the distance, dragged down into the horizon.
Torment awaits, I fear what is to come.
I close my eyes and step into this world of darkness where my demons dwell.
Fallen into a realm of terror, no mercy is shown for my battered soul.

Slumber I fear.
As the sun fades, I prepare for the fight.
Pavor Nocturnus: Haunting me when my eyes close, insomnia sets forth.

No escape in sight. I'm held hostage by my own mind.
Wishing for the end of night, I plead for day's first light.
Manifesting my greatest fears; is this a dream or is it real?

Slumber I fear.
As the sun fades, I prepare for the fight.
Pavor Nocturnus: Haunting me when my eyes close, insomnia sets forth.

A maddening struggle, a war within, a battle I simply cannot win.
No peace can be found; neither in day nor in night.

Wandering aimlessly in search of light; I surrender.
Constantly dreading the moment when I close my eyes; I surrender.
Haunting me, killing me slowly by day and by night; I surrender.
Helplessly, fighting a battle that cannot be won, I surrender.

Lead: Tapia
Lead: Stucky

Helplessly, fighting a battle that cannot be won, I surrender.
Can it be that I'm condemned to these horrors of night forever?
Sanity trickling away from this tormented mind; it's all over.

Slumber I fear.
As the sun fades, I prepare for the fight.
Pavor Nocturnus.
